Fusion21 is playing a pivotal role in creating sustainable improvements within Knowsley, Merseyside, and now across the whole of the UK - tailored to the needs of each region.
Hailed by many as the most successful training and skills programme of its kind in the UK, the Fusion21 Skills Programme is a unique and highly successful demand-led construction training programme. The Skills Programme is funded by Fusion21's contractors and suppliers - a superb testament to partnership working.
1% of the total contract value is contributed by the Fusion21 supply chain partners towards promoting and delivering the highly acclaimed construction training and job creation initiatives making it wholly self-financing.
It differs from many conventional training programmes as trainees are recruited, trained and guaranteed jobs with partner contractors, suppliers or Social Housing Providers at the end of the programme.
To date the Fusion21 Skills Programme has:
- Created 566 permanent jobs in construction for Merseyside residents in the last five including:
- 160 Social Housing Provider residents on Merseyside
- 26 women
- 21 member of BME communities
- 19 disabled persons
- Provided vocational training to over 684 Merseyside residents, many of whom have gained NVQs in key construction skills.
- Generated an estimated financial benefit to Merseyside boroughs in excess of £18.5m, through regular paid work and reductions in benefit claims.
