E2C trainee wins apprenticeship with Bramalls

Chris in the Fusion21 Workshop A trainee on our Entry into Construction course Christopher Gainford (17) has managed to secure an apprenticeship with Bramalls. Chris will start his plumbing apprenticeship with the company in August.

Chris will be leaving us with qualifications in CIEH Health & Safety Level 2, CIEH Manual Handling, First Aid (Appointed Persons) and a CSCS Card.

Chris was put forward for the Fusion21 Entry Into Construction course by Knowlsey Works, he started the course with no qualifications as he dropped out of school before taking his GCSE’s.

Chris said of the opportunity, “I’d had interviews for jobs in the past, but I’d never had any luck. As I left school early I didn’t really have much experience that would help me to get a job.

Fusion21 has been the best experience of my life, I have really enjoyed my time here, and learning about different types of construction trades in the workshop has been great.”

“All the lads on the course had the opportunity to go for the interview with Bramalls, so I couldn’t believe it when I found out I had got the job.

This is a chance for me to turn my life around.”

Chris Doran, Training Officer at Fusion21 added, “Over the 13 weeks Chris has been with us he has been a pleasure to teach so I am really pleased that he got the job with Bramalls. He has been given an opportunity to change his life for the better and has the potential to earn a fantastic trade- I wish him the best of luck for the future.”
