Whilst there are significant benefits to be gained from retrofitting existing housing, Fusion21 acknowledge that there are considerable commercial, technical and social risks facing Registered Providers. These include;

• High capital outlay, fragmented funding channels and low investor confidence
• High pace ‘green’ policy making and unclear sector targets
• Complex technical option appraisals; disparate property types and long, uncertain payback periods
• A shortage in skills and variable training courses
• Limited understanding and high levels of disruption and upheaval for tenants.

To accompany our extensive range of retrofit procurement frameworks and to address such risks we offer a range of retrofit consultancy support services, including strategic advisory, commercial viability assessments and project co-ordination support. As a consortium we are also presently exploring the provision of innovative funding mechanisms and carbon brokering opportunities.
